The birth of Jesus was a special one because even though he was conceived, the conception happened supernaturally. Mary and Joseph did not have to sleep together for Jesus to be conceived. Jesus was conceived by the Divine power of the Holy Spirit. This is the power of God at work.
Moses was conceived naturally but the mother was able to discern that Moses was a special child and so she did all she can to hide him for a while.
There are always special people born into this life. No matter how we look at it, this special people are destined for special occasion and glory. Often, it is almost difficult to stop them even when they are making a wrong turn in their lives.
A good example of special ones who made wrong turns and yet still fulfill destiny are Samson, David, Rahab (the harlot), Mary Magdalene, etc.
In our contemporary days, we cannot deceive ourselves that some have and are making special impacts in the world today. People like Billy Graham, great leaders like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln have all made great impact.
Also, we have great minds like Steve Job, Bill Gate, etc. Some of these people develop themselves to get there but majority of them were born special.
This season, we celebrate the birth of the one and only Jesus who came and was born in a manger. There was nothing special about His birth but He was born special.
Angels celebrated His birth, Wise men saw the Stars, and even a King thought His arrival would dethrone him.
So, the little baby became the savior of mankind. He bridged the gap created by sin and a sinful world.
Ever since He was born till now (and forever), He is celebrated.
By far, the most important thing about Him is He bringing us salvation and relationship with God because He is Emmanuel.
Now, we have peace with God through God’s only Son, Jesus.
Everything in life is nothing–they are all meaningless like chasing the wind.
A relationship with God (with daily fellowship) is worth it if it means eternal life.
You can ask Him to forgive you your sinful life now and He will come and make a new life with you and for you. Amen.
