Signs that you are drifting away

The following are the critical signs that you are drifting away.

— when you develop indifferent attitude to the things you love passionately before.

— when you reduce the amount of time you spend on the things you love to do.

— when other people, like your mentor, warns you but you refuse to listen.

— when there are clear signs that you have abandoned the right lane, yet you insist on your desire.

— when suddenly you fall in love with things that you hate or dislike before.

— when you deliberately choose to do the despicable despite your conscience saying no to such acts.

— when you disobey your devoted calling.

–when you don’t share your secrets with your loved ones as you used to because your thoughts are stained with unpleasant dirt.

–when you won’t let go of pride and you are full of yourself.

— when you suddenly begin to say “it doesn’t matter” to things that usually matter before.

— when you don’t seek counsel.

— when you seek counsel but don’t follow it.

— when you seek counsel and follow it but don’t ask for direction when confused.

— when you say you have lost your interest and you have no passion anymore.

Like a gazelle, run and cry for help before your life falls apart like a pack of cards…or like “things fall apart”.

It’s a marathon race

Life is like a marathon race.

Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
Habakkuk 2:2‭-‬3 NLT
You have to keep running until you reach the finish line.

The Christian life is a journey. You keep running each day till the end of time.

There are lots of side attractions on the way. Steadfastness will help you reach your ultimate goal and receive the crown.

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Philippians 3:13‭-‬14 NLT

Distractions will make you lose your purpose. Even though you finish the race, you may not win the race, but your goal is to win. So, remain focus and steadfast so you can win the race.

The Oppressed and the Oppressor

“Can the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of a tyrant be rescued?”

The oppressor will always hold on to the oppressed.

Anything or anyone that places a burden on you is an oppressor.

The master usually doesn’t want the servant to go.

If a king has its way would prefer to be king forever (dictatorship).
You will need to fight hard to rescue the prey (victim) from the warrior.
The warrior usually will not let go of his spoil (victim).

To be free, the oppressed must have a ransom, a kinsman, or fight to the end.

God’s favor and Men’s favor

You need God’s favor and men’s favor in life for progress and accomplishment.

The bible says, “Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew taller and grew in favor with the Lord and with the people.”
1 Samuel 2:26.

Also, the bible says that Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.
Luke 2:52

Even if God did not screw you up in heaven, men are likely to screw you here on earth.

Therefore, pray for both God’s favor and men’s favor.

Move on!

Move on! It is the statement God told Moses to tell the Israel people. Another version said, go forward.

Move on!

Exodus 14:14-15 NIV
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” [15] Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.

The Israel nation was faced with either return to Egypt or face the red sea.

Standing in front of the red sea and hearing someone telling you to go forward is the most daunting words you can take.

We don’t hear such bold words nowadays, but no doubt, God still speaks only in different ways.

A little trust in God and confidence in ourselves is all we need to face our red sea and move to the other side instead of dwelling in the past.

The past is useful for lessons, but its moment is gone. Today is all we have, and there’s an opportunity to advance to the next level if we move on.

At the right place the right time

This morning, I went through the verse I had read before, and I found a renewed inspiration.

So Ruth went out to gather grain behind the harvesters. And as it happened, she found herself working in a field that belonged to Boaz, the relative of her father-in-law, Elimelech.
Ruth 2:3 NLT

There’s a lot in this verse, but I will break it into one piece in prayers.

May we find ourselves in the right place and at the right time. We shall not miss our rightful place in Jesus’ name.

We shall enjoy God’s grace and favor. God’s mercy shall meet us at the feet of Jesus. We will not miss our blessings by a split of a second.

In the morning, favor meets us. At noon, God’s graciousness won’t leave us, and in the night, His help will remain at our sides. We will not labor in vain.

God’s favor and mercy will bring us closer to our destiny, and we shall fulfill destiny in the name of Jesus.

You will be positioned to your glory and destiny at the right place at the right time.

But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord ; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord , have spoken!
Isaiah 54:17 NLT

Tell them to move on

Exodus 14:15-16 NIV
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. [16] Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.

It suggests that God doesn’t want us to return to Egypt or the past.
It also means that if God is telling us to move forward, He will likely give directions on what to do.

Psalm 46:10-11 NIV
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” [11] The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Grace at work

The grace of God is constantly working in us to perfect God’s purpose in us for His glory.

For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
Colossians 1:27

God’s grace will work to bring us closer to where we belong– our rightful place.
