Seeking the purpose of God 4

We must pray and continually ask God’s will to be done.

‭‭Luke 18:1 NLT‬‬

[1] One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

The devil constantly tries to undermine the purpose and plans of God, and the prayer of the believer is the weapon (amongst others) to defeat the enemy.

One of the most important prayers

One of the most important prayers in any man’s life is to pray not to fall into temptation.

Falling into temptation can bring any man down from grace to grass. It can also make a great man an ordinary man.

Matthew 26:40-41
40 Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. He said to Peter, “So, couldn’t you stay awake with me for one hour?

41 Stay awake and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

This is so important that there is an instruction that whoever thinks he stands should watch lest he falls.

1Co 10:12 NET So let the one who thinks he is standing to be careful that he does not fall.

Don’t be so confident that you ignore a gentle warning.

When to pray

When you’re troubled and distressed, it’s time to pray.

When you’re confused, it’s time to pray.

When you have a challenge and don’t know how to manage it, it’s time to pray.

When you’re in a dilemma and find it hard to make a good decision, pray.

And when everything seems alright, it’s time to pray.

Matthew 26:36-38
36 Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”

37 He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and became anguished and distressed.

38 Then he said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, even to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with me.”

Don’t stop praying!

Don’t stop praying!

Pray every time you can. Pray anywhere. Pray everywhere. Pray when it makes sense and when it does not make sense.

Keep Praying!

Pray for guidance. Pray for a lead in life

Pray to God. Pray in the name of Jesus.

In the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is the Lord.

Don’t stop praying in the name of Jesus even when you don’t see the result immediately.

So, pray until you see situations changing until you see the effects. And even after you see the signs of your prayers working, never stop still.

Pray again!

Talking to God like a friend– the dialogue

In my previous post, I emphasized that God is not a mysterious being that you cannot approach neither is He hidden in a place that you cannot come near.

I said that He is your friend and also your heavenly Father. So, be free to say it all.
He hears everything.

I also said that those who spend more time talking to God acquire depths of His understanding and His ways and must be respected and revered. The reason is that they represent God and are often His messengers.

Lastly, I said Avoid distraction! We often focus on talking to people at the workplace and different places in our lives and usually give them undivided attention. Give God your heart and mind.

In my final post, I am saying that you should turn your conversation into a dialogue. Wait on God intermittently to hear Him speak a word to you. Be keen on what He is going to tell you.

Look for insight into His word. There are possibilities of scripture flashing through your mind. Take a pause and search the word as it comes alive in your mind.

As you talk to God, He is also willing to speak to you. So, allow Him to say something to you too.

God is closer than we can imagine, and He is willing to engage in a conversation with us.

The closer we are to God, the better our relationship is.
