Move on! It is the statement God told Moses to tell the Israel people. Another version said, go forward.
Move on!
Exodus 14:14-15 NIV The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” [15] Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.
The Israel nation was faced with either return to Egypt or face the red sea.
Standing in front of the red sea and hearing someone telling you to go forward is the most daunting words you can take.
We don’t hear such bold words nowadays, but no doubt, God still speaks only in different ways.
A little trust in God and confidence in ourselves is all we need to face our red sea and move to the other side instead of dwelling in the past.
The past is useful for lessons, but its moment is gone. Today is all we have, and there’s an opportunity to advance to the next level if we move on.
Exodus 14:15-16 NIV Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. [16] Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
It suggests that God doesn’t want us to return to Egypt or the past. It also means that if God is telling us to move forward, He will likely give directions on what to do.
Psalm 46:10-11 NIV He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” [11] The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
When there is no one to encourage you in your challenges, you have to inspire yourself.
When there is no one around to help or to console, and everyone abandons you, encourage yourself. When others let you down, you should not let yourself down. Take these steps in times of crisis. Do not let your guard down. Be strong and courageous.
Shake off fear and hopelessness. Develop a strong-willed mind and a sound Spirit. In a short time, you will come out as a victor.
For the Christian, it is not yet time to rest or relax. You’re on a battlefield.
Typically, you have to place yourself in the same position our Lord Jesus was when He was on earth. He didn’t rest nor relax until He conquered death and sin.
Day and countless nights, He would rise to pray before anyone else to avoid unnecessary distractions. Christians must do the same to rise above wickedness and evil prevailing our environment.
The devil is a roaring wild animal looking for weaklings to destroy.
Rise! You have the battle to win, and you must win because the victory is already guaranteed.
Do not rest until it’s time to rest, and it’s not time yet!
In my last two posts, I talked about how you can use your sweet old memories and waiting on God to re-energize your dampened spirit. Today, I am introducing another recipe for the revitalization of your exhausting life.
Hope is an expectation and assurance in God’s faithfulness that what He promises will happen or come to pass.
There is a general confusion between Faith and Hope, but the two are completely different. Hope is one of the greatest attributes. Without it, the bible says we are the most miserable people on earth.
When you think about God’s promises that they are true and that God can never lie, it increases confidence.
God’s promises are unbroken. They will surely come to pass. He is not a man that lies or a man that cannot hold unto his word and fulfill it.
Hope does not give up because there is an assurance that God can do what He says. There is no failure with God.
Take those words of God and practice them daily until it becomes part of you, and do not give them up because Hope says, “I believe God can do what He says He will do. He never fails, and He is not going to let me down. God is able!
Expect from God to help you, and He will perform it if you continue to hold unto His promises.
In the last post, I gave an illustration of how sweet old memories can wake up the sleeping giant in you and revitalize your passion. There is another way you can re-energize your spirit.
Those who wait on God receive strength and power. You can come to God to obtain this strength that you will need in times of weakness.
We may become faint and tired, but God never grows weary. God’s wisdom is infinite or beyond infinite ( I mean you cannot imagine how smart God is), but man has little understanding. God’s strength is limitless. He is never exhausted and does not get tired.
When your car is running out of gas, you quickly stop at the nearest station to refill. It makes logical sense that, when you are tired and weary, you should run to God to be refilled and energized.
Talk to God about your exhaustion and ask Him for what you need to keep the passion. Remember, weaklings, are usually left out of the race.
Stay connected to your calling. Today, in this world we live in, it is easy to lose hope and faint. It is even easier to get deceived with lies. In the quest for searching for the truth, many lose their true calling. It is easy to lose hope in the face of despair, especially when you have lost a dear person or a thing. It is easy to become gullible if you do not have a strong and firm grip on the truth.
Stay connected to God
Jesus Christ said that because sin shall abound, many people’s love for God will grow cold. Amidst all these possibilities listed above and more, you can stay connected to God and your true calling by holding on to the truth that kept you till the moment you have your first doubt. The same faith that keeps you before can keep you going. In a simple word, do not give up on your calling. Stay strong in the faith you once believe and do not let the troubles of this life discourage you. Faithful is He who saved you, and He can save you to the end if you do not give up. Staying connected to Him will let you appreciate that God will not leave you; neither will He forsake you in your time of need.
These are extraordinary times and call for us to seek God more than ever before. We have a promise that God will hear us if only we pray. We cannot be complacent and indifferent rather we should be concerned that the world around us seems to be crumbling.
Even in the face of adversity and reproach, there’s increase, multiplication and abundance of blessings. God’s covenant with Israel is unbroken.
Unbroken Promises
God had an intimate conversation with Abraham– Genesis 17:1-2,4-8 KJV
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. [2] And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. [4] As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. [5] Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. [6] And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. [7] And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. [8] And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
What can you say? if God is for you, who and what can be or stand against you? God will never leave us nor forsake us as He promised.
God has said that He will honor His own Word more than His name. If He has said it, then you have to hold Him by His Word. By defaults and records, He has never failed.
So, why run to man when you can run to God? If truly God has called you and afterwards you encounter challenges on the way, why consult a man? Why not talk to God about it?
And better still, you can challenge those difficulties by addressing them in the name of Him who called you. Simply, talk to God about your problems not to man. Why would you give the honor of solving your problem to man when God said He would not share His glory with anyone?
Think about this for a second, would you like God glorified or man glorified?
God is more than reliable. He has promised and He will never fail even if it seems otherwise.
Don’t be deceived by the circumstances surrounding your life right now, instead shout for joy because you have overcome the world.
The first thing the believers need to know is that they are a victorious people. This mentality alone will always defeat the enemy. Satan get weary of a Christian who doesn’t give up.
Your authority over the devil is the same authority that Jesus have. You have equal power in His name to defeat all wicked arrows of the enemies.
Therefore, understand that you are fighting from the victory stands. You can never be defeated without you defeating yourself. So, you must defeat yourself for the enemy to be able to defeat you.
Satan has lost all grips over you except those you allow him to have (if any). This mentality will always guarantee you a daily victory. So, even if you fall, if you keep getting back up, your authority and power over your enemies are forever guaranteed. Yes, forever guaranteed!
Do not believe in the devil’s lies. Check it out, we have equal status with Jesus because God adopted us like His Son, Jesus. This is who you are, but you need to know this.
Ephesians 1:18-21 NIV
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, [19] and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength [20] he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, [21] far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Live daily with this mentality and you will never experience defeat again.
