The life of man on earth 4.0 (why terrible things happen to good people)

Good people live in the same world that evil/bad people live.

In my last post, I gave three causes of wickedness. They are sin, Satan, and evil people.

When God was about to punish Sodom and Gomorrah, he spared no one. The only reason he spared Lot and his family was Abraham’s intercession.

The LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do Genesis 18:17

Abraham started talking to God about Lot and his family from verse twenty-three.

Abraham approached him and said, “Will you sweep away both the righteous and the wicked? Genesis 18:23

So, without impactful and continual prayers, terrible things and challenges do happen to good people all the time.

David is an example of how good people suffer. He suffered a great deal from enemies.

I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears. Psalm 6:6

My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies. Psalm 6:7

Another example is Jesus. Jesus prayed to stay alive to complete his work on earth.

And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. Mark 1:35

We are all going to face challenges in life, and terrible things do happen to good people.

Based on the examples I gave, the solution is prayers. David prayed, and Jesus prayed.

Although Job was a good man, he experienced the most bizarre situation in one day when he lost everything.

Deliverance came in the end. Your deliverance and help will come and will come quicker than you expected in Jesus’ name.

The life of man on earth 3.0 (the wrecking machine)

Although we established that God is good and does not cause terrible things to occur, he often allows them to happen. If you read my last post in isolation without my introduction or following up with me on the subsequent posts, you might get confused.

Job did nothing wrong, but it was the devil who accused Job when he asked permission from God to try/test Job’s faith and consistency.

Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? Job 1:9

Satan caused a lot of havoc in our lives. I call him the wrecking machine. He doesn’t stop working. He has a lot of demons working on his behalf. So, his havoc is enormous.

You need to realize how important this is so that you can stand your ground against every work of darkness.

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. Ephesians 6:11

Remember, Job did nothing wrong at the time Satan attacked him. Therefore, challenges are not always because we’ve done something wrong. It might just be the devil doing his thing.

Just pray and ask God for help in this instance.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:19

The life of man on earth 2.0

Today, I expand on my last post. I am discussing the life of Job, a good man in his own time.

The next lesson we can learn is that God is a good God, and He is NOT the cause of terrible things that happen in our lives or our world.

I understand the difficulty of this narration, but we have established that God is good, and everything He does is good.

When God created the world and everything in it, they were all in undamaged shape and working perfectly.

Assuming God is the cause of your woes and problem, why do we have to pray to Him?

Do you go to consult the help of your problem-causer? No! Instead, you seek help from someone who you know is nice to you.

Even those who do not believe in God often shout the name Jesus! when they are in trouble.

Everyone often exclaims: “oh my God!” (Shorten for omg) when in danger, trouble, or confusion. So, if God causes it, why do we call on Him for help subconsciously?

So, what causes our pain in this life?

Sin causes the foundational problem of man. For instance, when a man robs a bank, he gets caught and punished for the crime. If you sleep with your neighbor’s wife, he gets mad and drags you down, etc. Sin causes most of the problems we face in life, and therefore there are laws in the land.

Satan causes other problems on earth. He is a manipulator and a liar. He has come to steal your things (Joy, Peace, Money, etc.). He is out to kill (causes physical injury, death through any means) and destroys everything on his path.

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10

The last person that causes man’s problem is man himself. It could be you or the next person to you or the other person who knows the person that you know.

So, the next time you are in trouble, shout to God for help. He cares!

Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalm 55:22

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7

The next time, we go deeper into the case of Job.

Peace!

The life of man on earth 1.0

So, this is an introduction to a series on the life of a man called Job (in the Bible).

Recently, I studied the book of Job. After about a week, I realize that God wants me to review what I learned. I believe this will be beneficial to everyone who reads and takes time to think about how “events of life” happen and shape us into what we were, what we are now, and what we will become in the future.

The first lesson I am going to share is that nothing happens without the knowledge of God

Yes, God knows about everything because He is an all-knowing God.

O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. Psalm 139:1

You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. Psalm 139:2

Man is limited in many ways. For instance, I may not be able to do 100% justice to this work for some reasons. My mind could blackout if I am unsettled. I may experience disturbance from my environment. If my mind is unclear, it means that I may not hear God perfectly. Also, the equipment I use could malfunction and break down, etc. My point is that Man encounters a lot of difficulties and challenges in life for which he has little explanation, whereas God does not have any of these.

So, man is limited, but God is unlimited.

The other factor that is important here is the adversary. Yes, there is always an adversary, and the ultimate adversary of man (any man) is the devil.

From the beginning, the devil has been an adversary of both man and God.

Therefore, whenever you are in any confusing situation, it’s either you missed it; or the devil got you.

God never misses it because He is God, and He does all things well.

God called the dry ground “land” and the waters “seas.” And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:10

There are so many things to discuss. So, please sit tight, and let’s dive deep into this.

Make sure to come back for more!

He’s not here; He’s there!

He’s not here; He’s Risen!
Happy Easter!

Matthew 28:5-6 NIV
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. [6] He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Jesus, the savior, is not a dead man. He’s no longer among the dead. He is among the living.
You cannot find Him here, the angel said. Why?

Because He has risen! Hallelujah!

The disciples and those whose hopes are displaced initially now can rejoice the lamb that died is alive again. The power of resurrection brought Jesus from the grave. And now, we can live again.

Now, we have hope, not only in this life but in the life to come. We are not miserable people wandering this world, but we are confident that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead will work in us and quicken us into glory, and this world will have no place in us anymore.

We will live together with our risen God forever and ever.
Amen!

Peace–Evidence of right choices

When God created the world, He saw that He did the right thing. He saw that all He had made were good. He was happy.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

The evidence of peace is not the absence of problems or chaos, but it is an indication that you are moving in the right direction.

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

We make choices every day and every time.

Thousands upon thousands are waiting in the valley of decision. There the day of the LORD will soon arrive.

We do not need to experience Peace at every decision, but we need this indication especially when we make major decisions in our lives.

So Ruth went out to gather grain behind the harvesters. And as it happened, she found herself working in a field that belonged to Boaz, the relative of her father-in-law, Elimelech.

Sometimes, we just need to be at the right place at the right time. We do not need to make a decision for this to happen.

When you make the right choice, you can know. Watch out for the presence of inner peace. Yes, it is “inner peace” because it comes from within.

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.

If your heart and mind are troubled, then something is wrong with your choices and decisions.

Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time.
Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there.

Sometimes, you might need to pray about it to God.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

You also need to wait after praying because you cannot rush a decision after you have prayed.

Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!

At the end of the day and time, God might just drop something on your mind, and instantly, you will know that you are on the right track.

If you are on the wrong track, God may cause you to suddenly lose interest.

This is not holistic as God speaks to people differently, but Peace of mind is one of God’s methods of communicating His will to man.

Most of the time, it is in a still small voice.

The Blessings 3.0

Psalm 23:

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

The Lord is capable of taking care of my needs. He is the Shepherd, and I am the sheep. He will take care of (me) His sheep.

“He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.”

The Lord has the best intentions. He put me in the right, perfect place. I have the Right Placement.

“He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

I am at rest. There is Peace because God is in control.

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”

I know I might have troubles, and there might be problems all around, but I am confident that God will not leave me nor abandon me.

“You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.”

Do I need to worry about what other people think about me or my status?

I’d rather quake for lack of God’s presence in my life than the presence of a man with contempt.

“Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.”

God’s blessings come to me naturally every day of my life. His blessings follow me.

Yes, it follows me.

Amen!

Welcome, 2021! Help is on the way

Happy new year!

Last year was, perhaps, most challenging for all of us, but a new year is here, and help is on the way.

Yes, God will help us in 2021.

Look up and see. Sure, your help is from God.
Your best prayer might be, God, please help me through 2021, and He will.

Usually, you do not ask for assistance when you have the capability and capacity to handle any issue, but when you cannot, asking for a hand is the way out.

We often rely on others for help, but they fail not because they are wicked. They fail because, most times, they do not have the means to render assistance.

Below is an example of a woman asking the king for help during a famine in Israel.

…So there was a great famine in Samaria. Indeed, they besieged the city so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a quarter cab of dove’s dung sold for five shekels of silver. 26 As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, “Help me, my lord the king!”27He answered, “If the LORD does not help you, where can I find help for you? From the threshing floor or the winepress?”…

If you know 2021 very well, then you should be fine, but if you are naive and have not gone through 2021 before, then you need God’s help to go through this year from the beginning to the end.

Your reliable help is not from man but God.

Surrender 2021 to Him, and He will handle each moment for you with certainty and assurance.

I pray that the new year will be full of good surprises and positivity for you in Jesus mighty name.

Happy new year!

Move on!

Move on! It is the statement God told Moses to tell the Israel people. Another version said, go forward.

Move on!

Exodus 14:14-15 NIV
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” [15] Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.

The Israel nation was faced with either return to Egypt or face the red sea.

Standing in front of the red sea and hearing someone telling you to go forward is the most daunting words you can take.

We don’t hear such bold words nowadays, but no doubt, God still speaks only in different ways.

A little trust in God and confidence in ourselves is all we need to face our red sea and move to the other side instead of dwelling in the past.

The past is useful for lessons, but its moment is gone. Today is all we have, and there’s an opportunity to advance to the next level if we move on.
