Trusting God

I do not know so much but I know that worry does not achieve any result. Worry only makes matter worse. It makes us feel depressed and lose hope.
It does more damage and does no good.

Instead of worrying, we can trust God and lay every burden on Him.
Jesus clearly said that even if we worry, it cannot change anything. And He ends the statement by saying that we should not worry about tomorrow because each day has its own challenges.
So, instead of worry about things that concerns us, we can trust God.

I understand how difficult this is. I am still in the process myself– trusting God for everything.

Trust in the Lord

A good example is we do not worry about the day dawn or the sun coming out because we know it will happen. The things that we worry about are often material things, and Jesus said that if the bird who does not know God get their daily needs how much more we who He honors and respect.

Let us respect God also by trusting that He is able to do and perform what He promise. Remember, we are all in the process of trusting God more.

Prayers can Defeat the Power of Evil

The Bible says that “when the righteous prospers, the city rejoices…..” Yes, when a “good” man rules, there is peace and abundance in the land. Just the opposite happens when an evil man reigns over the land.

Good vs Evil

It occurs to me that believers cannot just afford to fold hands and do nothing while evil prevails over the land and where there are perversions in the city.

Believers must rise and pray. They must pray against the reign of evil. It is the power of prayers that can defeat evil. And the prayer of a righteous man works wonder.

So, to every believer and those who love the Lord, let us rise (and continue to rise) and take up the challenge and pray for the deliverance of the land from evil before it overtakes us all.

Only the effective prayers of the believers can defeat the power of evil that is in the land.

Rise up and knock out the evil from the land and see righteousness reign again!

Good Vs Evil- where it all began

I have always thought about evils that prevail in our society today. The presence of evil and the people who commit such act called evil often worries me.

Good vs Evil

My mind flashed back to the garden of Eden. In the garden, God told Adam and Eve to avoid eating the apple because if they do, the apple will open their eyes to the world of Evil. So, we can deduce that Adam and Eve did not know anything called Evil or we can say that it did not exist then.

But we all know– they did eat the apple courtesy of the devil’s temptation.
Talking about the devil, if you remove the letter “d” from his name, we have “evil”. something tells me that the author of evil must be the devil himself.

Yes, devil was the first to disobey God and leads all other and he is still leading others to disobey God.
But one quick thing is that Adam and Eve chose to listen to the devil. So, had they not listen to that evil voice, we will probably not be where we are today.

So, choose carefully who and what you listen to.

There is always a voice telling you to do something bad or terrible. You can choose to listen to the voice or you can choose to shut the voice out.

If you decide to command the evil voice to shut up and get lost, I believe that “the voice” will realize that you know who you are and that you understand your authority.

Good has the overwhelming capacity to overcome evil to the extent that we allow or enable it.

Choose to do good today and see the world become a better place.

Keep It Up

Our daily lives are so busy with so many things to accomplish and do. Many of the things we do are not necessarily of eternal values. They are just earthly relevant.

It is the responsibility of the believer to keep up the light shining and the fire burning.

The worries of this life: the desires to achieve and be successful are strong but the grace of God is greater and stronger.

The Bible said, “But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

There are vital ingredients that are useful to keeping it up in your faith–stay in love, build your faith through the Word and never stop praying.

Don’t be caught in the web of this lives, and refuse to worry about anything by focusing on God who promise to be with you forever. If you do this, you will not lose your momentum and you will be able to encourage others too.

Turn Your Complaints into Prayers

Instead of complaining to God and everyone, you can use the same energy to pray and achieve great result.

Prayer is an effective tool

Complaining does not guarantee anything other than waste of energy and resources.

The Israelites are a perfect example. They complained to God and Moses throughout their Exodus journey. Many of them could not get to the promise Land.

The Bible encourages us to make all our request known to God. You can do this by telling Him rather than complaining.

The same amount of energy and resources is required to achieve complain and prayer. But one is effective and the other is not.
Turn to God and turn your request unto Him in prayers and see results as it unfolds.
Greater glory lies ahead.

The Lord’s Doing

The Psalmist says that “When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.”
The psalmist further says that “the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.”
The way and manner of God’s work and ways are unbelievable. God knows all things and He knows how to get things done the right way at the right time.

The Lord’s doing is always a good doing even when it does not appear so in our human eyes.

The reason for this is because He knows what to do every given time and He is not confused by situations or circumstances.

Therefore, He is perfect in His nature and perfect in everything. No wonder Paul said the ways of God are unsearchable.

The Lord do only what He can do. Thus, He has no rival ever.

He is God and will be God forever.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!

happy mother’s day

Mothers are strong and extremely valuable. They are definitely worthy of recognition and appreciation for great work they do on daily basis.

The book of Proverbs 31:10-31 says it all.

A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11
Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13
She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14
She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15
She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16
She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19
In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20
She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21
When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22
She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23
Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24
She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29
“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

The Resurrection

On Sunday, the third day, our Lord Jesus Christ resurrected! Praise God! Hallelujah! The victory is now completed. He died on the cross, He ransomed us from punishment, He rescued us from eternal damnation , He saved us from spiritual annihilation, He delivered us from sin and from the shackles of death.

The Cross, my freedom

He did it all and capped it by resurrecting to show that no other power is greater than Him, and no contention that He is truly the Son of God that came from God as a gift for Humanity–to draw us, the lost, to a loving God.

How would it be if the believers are without hope of a living God. Paul said, we would be the most pitied people on earth. It was so important that Jesus resurrected because this is our only Hope; this is our essence, our life our existence and our freedom.

I think Jesus “came, saw and conquered!”

Now, this is our freedom and our joy in that we serve a living God who we can run to and be welcomed. I am thrilled and so happy that I am saved, not just for now but forever.

Hallelujah! He lives forever.

The Grave

Jesus successfully defeated sin at the cross. From there, Jesus descended to the grave to accomplish another task. One major man’s tormentor: Death, has to be fought and conquered.

The Cross; my freedom

Jesus went into the grave and dealt a final blow on death. Whenever a man dies, he is buried in the grave and potentially, this is the final blow for man. Jesus had to fight death and conquered it so that man can be free not just from sin but also from death’s power.

So, if any man dies even though he goes into the grave, the grave can no longer hold him forever because if he believes, he goes to God’s paradise.

More importantly, spiritual death means separation from God forever and this is ultimately why death has to be conquered so that when man who believe in God dies, he does not really die. Yes, he is only transformed and changed to a new “person”. Bible says, “Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” This is everlasting freedom.

So, this is why no Christian should be afraid of death by any means. Jesus successfully conquered death. He has the power to save us ultimately from both physical and spiritual death.

This is mind-blowing. His love is relentless and endless and just too much. Sometimes, when I think of how much love He has for us, tears roll down my cheeks. I cannot thank Him enough.

Jesus conquered sin and also conquered death. We are infinitely free, and free forevermore.

The Cross

The Bible says that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. Jesus died on the cross to bring man salvation; to bring us closer to God and to redeem us from the curse of sin.

He has to die to ransom us. He has to replace us at the judgement thereby freeing us while He is being punished for our sin.

The main thing here is that the cross was the place of punishment and also the place where the victory over sin was declared. Without Jesus shedding His blood at Calvary, it would have been difficult for us securing salvation.

Someone has to be punished for a sin or an offense. Look at it this way: in the court room, the accuser successfully made a case against the “offender”, the judge passed a judgement and declaring that according to the law, you must die for your offense.

All of a sudden, someone just showed up and tells the judge that he will serve your punishment and that you are free to go. The judge then agrees. And you leave the court room as a free person. Yes! that’s exactly what happen when God passed a judgment on us for our sin but Jesus stood in our place so we do not have to suffer.
He suffered on the cross the punishment for our sin. How grateful we ought to be. The cross was the deal and will remain relevant while the earth last.
