Positioning yourself- obedience

Rth 3:5 NET Ruth replied to Naomi, “I will do everything you have told me to do.”

It is not an easy decision for Ruth to follow Naomi after a series of death incidents.

Not only did Ruth stick to her mother-in-law, she also decided to abide by every instructions.

What this means is that Ruth foresee her chances of success in listening and obeying Naomi.

Ruth understood that Naomi knew the land more than her and can “make a way” for her to settle down in a new-found region.

Ruth’s perception was unique and unparalleled. It takes a lot of trust and loyalty to exhibit this personality.

For years and generations after, Ruth’s actions resonate even till today.

May we find the confidence to trust the saving grace of God, amen!

Still here by God’s grace

It is by the grace of God that we stand for by strength shall no man prevail or succeed.

“He will protect his faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone.
1 Samuel 2:9 NLT

So, it is not of him who knows how to do it or behave better, but it is God who keeps and sustain those who put their trust in Him.

So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.
Romans 9:16 NLT

Therefore, we can say by the grace of God We are still here.
Amen!

Positioning yourself- finding a place

One of the most essential things in life is finding a place you can call home.

It is essential to secure a place and to secure a place, you must search. After you search, then you find your location.

This process is not limited only to finding a place.

Someone looking for a life partner must search until he/she finds one.

A scholar must search for programs and educational curricula suitable to the line of study. The same goes for friendships, jobs, business partners, vacations, etc.

Rth 3:1- NET 1 At that time, Naomi, her mother-in-law, said to her, “My daughter, I must find a home for you so you will be secure.
You derive security and satisfaction after your findings adventure.

The quest continues until you find your place. Seek your place in life just like Ruth.

Do not shy away from little obstacles. your place (home) is where you can rest and enjoy peace of mind.

Find your place; find your rest.

Pass the torch to your offspring

The essence and beauty of life is when you are able to procreate and pass on life to others who, in turn, do same, too.

Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Genesis 2:24.

As you aged, other things you cannot do, like your aspirations, plans, projects, and your legacy, pass it on to your offspring who will live your dream come through.

Do not struggle to achieve all in your old age.

For what you had before I came was little, and it has increased to a great amount; the Lord has blessed you since my coming. And now, when shall I also provide for my own house?”
Genesis 30:30 NKJV

Allow your children to live their own dream. Give them the space and time.
When they are successful, you will be delightful. And you will live your old age with a feeling of fulfillment.

Part of living the best of life is seeing others live the best of their lives, especially your own heritage.

Wisdom for this time

Every man has the power to create because of his god-like nature in them.

Generally, when the light comes, darkness must disappear.

Darkness always gives way for light to shine, but darkness often enjoys a slight moment of time.

Most times, it appears that darkness is too prevalent, but in no time, light always finds ways to shine, and darkness must disappear.

As long as darkness cannot last long before the light shines, so evil cannot last long before good overtakes it.

One thing is certain concerning evil people– they will surely be punished for their wickedness.

Truly, the power of creation is in the tongue. This is why truth is powerful, but lies can be deadly.

God, also, is constantly looking for where to shine. He can not operate in a vacuum. He needs a vessel.

Even in the dark, God can still perform. So, where the odds are significantly stacked against Him, He is capable of working wonders. This is why we have what is called a “miracle.”

God experienced darkness too when He (Jesus) was on earth in the form of man.

It is true that whatever you have to do, do it quickly. Truer is the fact that you also tend to forget the needful when you don’t do it at the right time, thereby losing momentum.

The Price of Salvation: what you can do

God did His part of salvation by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

It took the sinless man to die for the sinful before there was a remission of sin.

In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. Hebrews 9:22

Now, it is our turn to do our part by living a new life created through the regenerated power of God by the new birth.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17

We must live deliberately for God. We must live to please God, who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

We must make an effort to make our daily living a worthy example of followers of Jesus.

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children. Ephesians 5:1

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. Matthew 16:24

We also need to make sacrifices as there will be challenges for our new faith.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Romans 12:1

Lastly, we must ask God for the power to live a new life.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Romans 6:4

If we do these, the price of our salvation will never be in vain.

The Price of Salvation: what you cannot do

We should always remember that the price of salvation cost Jesus His death on the cross. Therefore, we should learn to guide and keep our salvation.

Salvation means that we are saved from sin and death, from this world and all its degradation.

After the salvation experience, we cannot continue to live the old life.

If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead. 1 John 3:14

Shall we continue in sin, and the grace abounds, no!

Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Romans 6:1

We cannot live the life we lived before we were saved, and we must make an effort to live our new life daily.

Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. Philippians 2:12

Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Make a conscious, deliberate effort to achieve this.

If we deliberately live our new life in Christ, God will give us the grace to live each day.

And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, Romans 5:20

For we walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

And it is God who works in you both to will and to do His good pleasure.

for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Philippians 2:13

May God’s grace never depart from us in Jesus name. Amen!

The Price of Salvation: death on the cross

Jesus Christ died and was nailed on the cross. This was the price He paid for our salvation.

When He died, He shed His blood. The Bible says that “without the shedding of blood, there is no redemption or forgiveness from sin.” Hebrews 9:22.

The price Jesus paid was the death and the agony He endured at the cross.

Hebrews 9:28 NIV so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

If Jesus had not gone through this, we would still be in our sinful state, and destitute for eternal destruction.

Romans 5:8 NIV But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus paid the price for our salvation.

He paid it all because He had us in His mind from the foundation of the world.

Who created God?

If you’re like me– a deep thinker, this thought probably has flashed through your mind.

Who created God? How does He exist without a creator?

How does He manage to be alive without being formed or called out from something?

All these thoughts? Crazy thoughts, right?

Gen 1:1 NET In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

The straightforward answer is nobody creates God.

God exists all by Himself through His supernatural power. I understand that a lots of people find it difficult to comprehend, and it up to them to accept and believe or not.

John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

I have no perfect explanation for God’s existence, but we can rely on everything He says or has said, or the things that happen in the environment as proof of His existence.

You are also a proof of His magnificent power.
